Cover Shot Summer 2008The Astoria-Megler Bridge by Jody Miller.

Jody Miller has been a photographer most of her life. She was first handed a Brownie box camera by her parent at the age of 9, then got serious about photography in her late teens. In the intervening 35 years, she has gone on to explore the world with her camera searching for unique way to envision the world around her. In 1982 she studied at the Ansel Adams workshop in Carmel, California during the last year that Ansel was able to teach. Jodie continues to study privately for the next 2 years with Arthur Ollman. This study helped shape her vision and approach to image making that she uses today.

Jodie has never actually worked as a professional photographer; photography has always been her passionate hobby. Currently, she works in the television industry in Hollywood as an animator. it has always been Jody’s goal to relocate permanently to the northwest Coast, and that dream is finally starting to be realized. She is sharing her time between Los Angeles and Astoria, and hopes to be a permanent north coast resident very soon. The Oregon and Washington coast are a source of visual and spiritual enrichment for her as an artist and a never-ending source of photographic inspiration.
